What happened to ScreenGuide?
ScreenGuide is being deprecated and will be discontinued in the near future. Mosyle@Home is the official parent platform and should be used going forward for new setups and ongoing home management. Families using ScreenGuide should transition to Mosyle@Home to avoid losing access when the legacy experience is retired.
Can a personal device be added to Mosyle@Home?
No. Only devices that are enrolled, assigned to a current enrolled student, and managed in a school's Mosyle account can be added to Mosyle@Home.
Can I remove a device from my family?
Guide to Removing a Device & Deleting a Child Account (external - Scribe)
Yes, removing a device will stop the family-side controls that were being applied through Mosyle@Home. If you are unsure whether the device should be removed, confirm with the school or another family guardian before proceeding.
Does Mosyle@Home cost anything for families?
No, there is no additional cost to use Mosyle@Home with school-issued and assigned devices.
Why don’t I see my child’s device?
Mosyle@Home does not discover devices automatically. A parent or guardian must register each child device and link it to the family account.
If the device has not been registered yet, it will not appear in the dashboard, even if the school has already assigned it. After registration, allow a short time for the device and family relationship to sync before checking again.
Why do I only see some devices?
Mosyle@Home only shows devices that were manually registered and linked to a family member. Devices not added or ones that were added to ineligible school accounts will not appear in the dashboard.
If a newly added device is missing, confirm the registration was completed and refresh the page after the sync finishes.
Why are some controls not available right now?
Certain controls are also platform-specific or depend on the device being supervised before Mosyle@Home can use them.
If a feature is missing, check the device type, whether it is currently in the family management period, and whether the device has the required supervision or school-side assignment.
Why is the app still visible on the iPad after I set the restriction?
Allow a short time for the device and family relationship to sync before checking again. Depending on the restriction, the app is visible but inaccessible when tapped on.
What should I do if a feature is missing?
If a feature is missing, first confirm that the device type is supported for that action. Then check whether the school account is eligible and whether the device was fully registered by the parent or guardian. Some features only appear on iOS or only on macOS, so platform differences are often the reason a control is not available.
Why does the app say some features require supervision?
Some Mosyle@Home features on iOS depend on the device being supervised before they can be applied. If the device is not supervised, the app may explain that certain controls are not available for that device. This does not always affect every feature, but it can limit the set of controls that parents see in the feature list.
